MOTIVATION
Motivation can be hard to find sometimes. Even I, a trainer, can find it difficult at times to get motivated for a workout. Your motivation comes from your will or desire for a change. But, what if your will or desire begins to subside? I have the tools you need to keep you motivated so you’re seeing the results you want to see. Follow along.
MAKE A LIST OF WHY’S
There are many ways to find motivation. I want to share three helpful ideas that I found effective for keeping me motivated and on track. Let’s get started. Have you ever sat down and wrote out a list of Why’s? Well then you need to. What do I mean by this? Take some time and really think about why you want to get healthy and fit. Try to think of 10 Why’s and jot them down on a piece of paper. They can be anything from losing weight, to living longer, to being healthier, etc. Make it your own though. It has to come from you. WHY do you want this change? Once you complete that, stick it up on your fridge so you see it every day. When you look at it every day it helps you stay focused and determined on your goals. It’s like a constant reminder to stay on track. If you ever feel like skipping a workout, remember those why’s and get it done! I have to say, it WORKS for me.

FITNESS LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE
Another way I stay motivated is by surrounding myself with others who have the same interests (fitness). You began your fitness journey to get healthy, fit and live a better quality of life. Start spending more time with people who want to do the same. I’m not saying drop your old friends. Just continue to make new friends who share the same mindset as you. Why do I say this? Well, because it will motivate you to stay on track. You and your fitness buddies can hold each other accountable and keep each other going. Their motivation and desire for change fuels the fire for your desire for change. I personally haven’t dropped my old friends (well some), but I’ve made a lot of new friends who inspire and motivate me every day. You should definitely consider doing the same!

FIND THE RIGHT TRAINER FOR YOU
My last tip for you is to find a personal trainer you can connect with, have fun with and whom pushes you to be your best. If you have a trainer who bores you, isn’t motivating and doesn’t seem like he/she cares, then you will ultimately give up. Sorry, but it’s true. Find a trainer who cares deeply about others, wants to help you, makes you work hard for that change, shifts your mindset, motivates and inspires you, but also knows how to make your workouts FUN. Having a trainer who can do all that will only keep you moving in the right direction. You’ll begin to look forward to workouts and that healthy way of living. Before you know it, the results will begin to show. So, find the trainer who’s right for YOU.

GIVE IT A SHOT
Finding motivation can be hard. Trust me, I know. But, if you try these tips I believe it will help on your journey to becoming a better version of YOU. The only thing you can do is give it a shot!
